IAG Jharkhand (Inter-Agency Group), plays a crucial role as an organization that is a coalition of regional humanitarian agencies. It came into operation in 2013 in Jharkhand with the support of Sphere India (NCR), a national coalition of humanitarian, development, and resilience actors in India.

IAG Jharkhand has evolved through a process of consultation. Its primary aim is to create institutional space and establish collaborative processes to enhance the quality and accountability of humanitarian actions in Jharkhand.

By providing this platform for coordination, collaboration, and cooperation among various humanitarian agencies, IAG Jharkhand helps to ensure that relief efforts in Jharkhand are more effective, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the communities they serve. This collaborative approach is essential in humanitarian work to avoid duplication of efforts, optimize resource allocation, and adhere to international standards of humanitarian action. 

Our objectives include serving as a coordination hub for government and non-governmental bodies, fostering thematic coordination at state and district levels, advocating for disaster-related issues, disseminating vital information, and building capacities for disaster preparedness and response among our member agencies.
